I love your work – how do we book?! Or do we need to meet first?
I'd be happy to meet you for a coffee first, but I know that's not always possible, so we can always have a chat on Zoom or just a WhatsApp call.
What happens after booking?
We stay in touch! You can follow me on (Instagram) and we can bounce ideas off each other. Then, closer to the time we can sort out the timings and details of the day.
Do you do engagement/pre-wedding shoots?
Yes absolutely! Get in touch and we can put together a cute day for you and your partner.
So why don’t photographers give away the raw files to their wedding couples?
Lisa Lander put this best: Imagine that your photographer is a baker, then imagine that the RAW files are part of the ingredients that the baker will use to make a cake. The cake is a finished product, such as the edited wedding photos are a finished product. Now imagine you go into the same bakers and ask to have the ingredients for the cake.
That is exactly what it is like asking a photographer for their RAW files. A professional wedding photographer normally will not give you the RAW files as they are not the final images. The photographer will use these files to edited them to match their photography style.
Do you have insurance?
Yes of course, I'm fully covered.
I know your style is quite natural, but will you take formal/group photos?
Absolutely, my style is very candid and unobtrusive, however I understand that families want group shots with their dearest. Before the wedding I'll request a group shot list and we can tick those off.
Do you work alone?
I do work alone, but i've been a photographer for over 13 years, so I've made some pretty good friends in the space. If you have a larger wedding I can always ask one of them to come along as a second shooter (+£300).
What happens if you’re ill on our wedding day?
I'm a pretty tough cookie, it'll take a lot for me to be ill. In all my years of shooting i've never cancelled a wedding, but in the 0.01% chance I can't, I have a pretty solid network of photographers who can jump in on a moments notice.
Now the big camera question – Canon or Nikon?!
Canon every single time. Using a Nikon is like picking up an Android phone for me.
Will the photos be in colour or black and white?
They're primarily be in colour, but I'll edit some in b&w that I think will look good.
What happens if your camera breaks?
I have dozens of cameras, I tend to bring 3 to each event in case anything happens.
How much editing do you do?
I pride myself in taking natural documentary pictures. Although I edit your pictures to the right colours and contrast, I don't give you a tummy tuck or Kim K's lips. If this is something you do want, I can get you a quote from a digital artist.
How long does it take for us to see our photos?
During peak season (April - September) it can be anywhere from 4 to 6 weeks.
Can we print the photos from the USB stick?
Yes, I'll give you print ready images, and I'll even recommend some of my favourite labs near you.
Do you just photograph weddings and families?
No, in fact I've photographed everything from concerts to baby showers. Message me with what you need.
